No. 1 swimming pool problem? It's number two!
Thu May 16, 2013
People go to public pools to hang out and cool off in hot weather, not like a gym visit. I don't think it's reasonable to expect public pools to be cordoned off as exercise zones when there are more appropriate places to host that sort of activity.
No cellphone, no Wi-Fi: Living in America's quietest place
Wed May 15, 2013
Einstein proposed the theory behind Laser in 1917 and there were a number of other people involved in its development over the next 40 years before Gordon as well. The point stands, though, that if we didn't aim for these kinds of things we'd be missing some incredible advancements in every day life …
Oklahoma pol says he regrets 'Jew' insult
Thu Apr 18, 2013
I'm with you dsb. It's a colloquialism that I'd never even connected with any kind of anti-semitic nature until maybe a few years ago. He shouldn't have said it, but he immediately apologized and hopefully learned from the mistake. What else can you do, or what else do people expect, I have no idea …
Uruguay approves gay marriage, second in region to do so
Wed Apr 10, 2013
How in the world is it persecuting Christians for a minority group to ask for the same rights that the Christian majority has? Because the majority's belief system doesn't support the minority, the minority is persecuting the majority by what, existing? By being equal, in a country where freedom is …

Well, it's official. People will actually get offended about anything.
Georgia town passes law requiring citizens to own guns and ammo
Tue Apr 2, 2013
You have to appreciate the irony of all the pro-small government republicans coming out to defend a law that isn't necessary, isn't going to be enforced, and is completely optional. That's like passing a law requiring people to have a dog except there's no penalty for not owning one and if they don' …
Want to be happier at work? Try goofing off
Thu Mar 28, 2013
The goal isn't to get away with the easiest job that pays the most money -- the goal is to find meaningful work that you love. That's nice and all, but that's just not realistic for most of the people you run into every day. Especially given today's economic situation, I'd say most people are doing …
Hot cities more sustainable than cold ones, study says
Wed Mar 27, 2013
At least according to this article, his entire methodology seems flawed. More heating days in the sense listed here just means larger variance from mean temperature on average. ...which means what, exactly? Those numbers don't compare to each other when you're using a scale that weighs average tempe …
FDA adds heart risk warning to Z-Pak

janellect, this story is saying that the drug can potentially cause the condition in the first place, not just that people suffering from it should avoid it.
Bin Laden son-in-law due in New York court; GOP's Graham cites 'bad precedent'
Thu Mar 7, 2013
For a group of people who were so concerned about upholding the constitution 24 hours ago, they sure seem eager to keep someone from being protected by it today.
Questions & Answers
Should restaurants have the right to ban 'screaming children'?
Yes
If they say "respect the people around you" offenders would always assume it wasn't about them. This way is abundantly clear.
